This mandolin-like instrument is an original design of Steve Catania. Gourds have been used as resonators for musical instruments in many cultures since ancient times. They are exceptionally strong and lightweight which has made them an excellent, natural choice.

The Gourdolin features a fingerboard and top made from select hardwoods. This 4-string version of the mandolin (tuned GDAE, low to high, with geared tuning pegs) is easy to play even for the beginner. The result is a fine piece of craftsmanship that looks as enchanting as it sounds!
