The Handbook of Mathematical Functions is a standard reference for those in physics, mathematics, engineering, and economics. We chose to carry this book because we use it ourselves. When we are working on calculations it is an indispensable reference. Math software is great, but it does not provide the same understanding as a good reference such as this.
A classic resource for working with special functions, standard trig, and exponential logarithmic definitions and extensions, it features 29 sets of tables, some to as high as 20 places.
Look the book over! Click for the back cover, Table of Contents, or a pdf with sample pages.
If you are (or someone you know is) headed to graduate school in physics this is a must have reference book. It is also useful for many areas of engineering and mathematics. This is a book that we highly recommend from personal experience beginning at the advanced undergraduate level.
