The classic, visual demonstration for convection currents in air. Place a lighted candle in the candle holder located in the glass front box. Air heated by the candle flame rises out the nearby chimney above the candle, while room temperature (cool) air streams in through the other, adjacent chimney. Have a second candle, or other source for "smoke" handy to hold next to the inflow chimney and make the air flow pattern easily visible!
