This self-powered radio offers AM, FM, and National Weather Service broadcasts. The radio covers seven National Oceanic & Atmospheric Association (NOAA) broadcast channels.
Thirty seconds of winding the hand crank on the back of the radio will provide about 35 minutes of operating power. The AC dynamo can be cranked in either direction, with an LED indicator lighting at optimum winding speed. Excess power goes to charge the internal NiMH battery pack, which will maintain up to 50% of stored power for about 3 months. It may also be charged using an AC adapter (included), reaching full charge over a 24 hour period.
In addition to being able to power itself with the hand-cranked dynamo, the integrated solar panel can generate enough power to operate the radio and charge the battery when exposed to strong sunlight. When you aren't running it, the radio will charge itself if left in the sun.
A built-in LED flashlight (ultra bright 5 mm white LED) makes this model ideal for everyday or emergency use. On a full charge, the radio or the flashlight will operate for about 25 hours.
Dimensions: 4.4 inches x 7.3 inches x 2.4 inches (112 mm x 186 mm x 60 mm).
