They chirp. They whirrr. They are irresistible!

Two finely polished, high powered, oval shaped magnets - seemingly simple. But pull them apart, toss them in the air, or bring them next to each other and watch them come to life!

Driven by powerful magnetic attraction and repulsion, these incredible ellipsoids continually strive to stay in perfect balance with each other. This magnetic balancing act results in a wide variety of mysterious chirping noises that are both unnerving and mesmerizing. Play with them! How many different behaviors can you find? How many different sounds? Here are a few to get you started:

	Place the Magnetic Ovoids on a smooth surface, pinch the ends together with your thumb and forefinger, then release. They will emit a pleasant fluttering sound as they spin around the surface. (You can also pinch them between two fingers while holding them in your hand.)
	Hold one ellipsoid between your fingers and thumb, then attach the second one to the bottom of the first. Gently swing them back and forth like a pendulum. See how close you can bring the second one to horizontal before they clash together!
	Start off by holding the ellipsoids between your thumb and first two fingers. Squeeze gently. They will spin briefly in the air, producing a mysterious whistle. (The higher into the air you spin them, the longer they whistle.)

Caution: magnetic ovoids are not a child's toy. They can crack if thrown too hard or when they are very cold (below freezing).

Our current supply of ovoids are more rounded than those in the main photograph. They measure 1.8 inches (4.6 cm) in length.
