Between the passage of the 18th ammendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920 until its repeal via the 21st ammendment in 1933, the sale of alcoholic beverages was illegal with exceptions for medicinal and religious purposes. From history we know that this prohibition sparked a brisk bootlegging industry.

Rum-running initially referred to the transport of rum from Bimini, one of the Caribbean islands, to the Floridian coast. Wikipedia has an article with additional information on rum running.

An accessory pack included with each boat contains a bulb water primer, fuel holder, and a fuel candle. Additional candles may be purchased.

Not a young child's toy! Some edges may be sharp and, of course, an open flame is required to run the steam engine. These boats should be suited for most 13 years old and up, younger with a guardian "shipmate."
