Hand-painted Dolphin Boats $19.50

Dolphin on orange boat.

These beautifully hand-painted pop-pop boats that are also fully functional! The dolphins are primarily blue with various background colors - two of which are shown here.

The boat is may be powered by olive oil or small votive-style candles. An accessory pack containing a bulb water primer, fuel holder, and a fuel candle is included. Additional candles may be purchased.

Be aware that powering the flash boiler leaves soot on the boat, particularly on the dolphin tail. This is a natural result of burning fuel.

This type of boat is known as a pop-pop or putt-putt boat. It is named for the popping or putting sound of its small steam engine.

For information on how the flash boiler works click here. An html version of our steam engine or flash boiler cycle tutorial is found here.

Dimensions: about 5 1/2" in length (14 cm).

Not a young child's toy! Some edges may be sharp and, of course, an open flame is required to run the steam engine. These boats should be suited for most of those 13 years old and up, younger with a guardian "shipmate."

Assorted colors in decorated boxes. Limited supply.
