Light is guided through space by thin fibers to produce a fountain effect.
By basic optical principles of reflection and refraction, internal reflection of light happens when light traveling through a dense material encounters a boundary to an airier material at a relatively high angle. The light is then 'trapped' inside the dense material until it reaches the airy one at a small angle. This happens at the end of the optical fibers, making them appear as glowing points of light floating in space.
Light is provided by three blue LEDs. The lamp, which is designed for indoor use, is battery powered. Three AA batteries are included.
