Small changes in atmospheric pressure cause the water level to run up and down a considerable length of the swan's neck, forecasting weather to come.

Each swan is blown individually by Robert Rossbach, a Canadian artist. They are filled with colored water and a removable wax seal placed over the beak. The photograph on the left from Mr. Rossbach shows the full range of colors.

Dimensions (rough): 7.25-7.75" high x 7" wide x 2.75" deep (18.4-19.7 cm x 17.8 cm x 7 cm).
