The Engine Cycle - Refilling the Boiler Pan

Lower pressure in the boiler pan results in water refilling to equalize the pressure.

After the hot water and steam are expelled, the pressure inside the boiler pan is lower than the surrounding water pressure. This results in water flowing back through the jets and into the boiler pan. The refilling process ends when the pressures are equalized.
